The imaginatively created gold boxes often give attention, not least because of its precious material. It was after a fortunate meeting with Victor Hasselblad in 1978 that Olle Ohlsson could realise his dream of making a collection of modern gold boxes. Ohlsson tells himself how he with mixed horror and delight realised that Hasselblad had taken his desire seriously by asking the question:"How much gold will you need?" Already the following Monday money appeared for 4 kg of gold, sufficient to be able to make 14 boxes. Some superb enamelled boxes by Fabergé gave him an initial idea which he soon abandoned. The first box was "Daddy's Best Coat", a tailcoat with an opal at the top and a star sapphire as a button. The sequel was equally imaginative. Longing to return to swim in a bathing ring as a child was brought back to life, here interpreted as the image above.
